THE RIVER HOUSE
Set directly on the banks of the legendary Chimehuin River, River House Lodge is an intimate and elegant base in Northern Patagonia, ideally located between San Martin de los Andes and Junin de los Andes.
Its peaceful riverfront setting, warm atmosphere and highly personalized service make it an exceptional choice for families, private parties and small groups looking to experience Patagonia from a lodge that feels entirely their own.
THE FISHING
The Chimehuin is one of Northern Patagonia's classic trout rivers, offering long riffles, deep runs, willow-lined banks and productive side channels. Most days are explored by drift boat, combining fishing from the boat with carefully selected wading stops as the river changes character.
Throughout the season, mayfly, caddis and stonefly activity creates opportunities to match the hatch and target brown and rainbow trout on the surface. Nymphs and streamers provide effective alternatives as conditions change.
Depending on river conditions and the preferences of the group, the program may also include a day fishing the public-access sections of the lower Malleo or another nearby Northern Patagonia water.

River House combines the warmth and privacy of an elegant country home with the attentive service of a first-class Patagonian lodge. Its intimate scale makes it especially well suited to families, groups of friends and private parties who value a quiet atmosphere and a stay shaped around their own rhythm.
Dining is an essential part of the experience. Thoughtful menus bring together regional Argentine flavors, international influences and carefully selected wines, turning every evening at the lodge into a memorable conclusion to the day.
Its convenient location also gives non-anglers and mixed groups easy access to San Martin de los Andes, nearby outdoor activities and the renowned Chapelco Golf Course—without giving up the calm of a secluded riverside setting.
BEYOND THE RIVER
A stay at River House can be shaped around far more than fishing. Additional experiences can be arranged for anglers, non-angling companions and families who want to explore the landscape at their own pace—from kayaking, canoeing and scenic boat outings on clear mountain lakes to horseback riding, guided hikes, birdwatching, mountain biking and outdoor picnics.
Golfers can schedule a round at the renowned Chapelco Golf Course, while a visit to San Martin de los Andes offers excellent restaurants, relaxed cafés and shops featuring regional crafts, leatherwork and distinctive Patagonian products. These optional outings make River House especially versatile for mixed groups, allowing everyone to build a day around their own interests before gathering again at the lodge.
Optional activities can be scheduled in advance and are subject to availability, weather and local conditions.

A PERFECT SHORT STAY
River House works beautifully as a focused three-night stay or as the opening or final chapter of a longer Patagonia itinerary—enough time to enjoy the Chimehuin, explore another nearby river and settle into the relaxed pace of the lodge.
