Quemquemtreu River
A Stream to Hike and Discover
Tucked entirely inside the ranch, the Quemquemtreu stream is a small, private spring creek that rewards those willing to walk its banks, search, and discover their own fishing situations.
More than 15 miles of private-access water fish exceptionally well throughout spring and early summer, particularly from November through late December, when brown trout can occasionally exceed 24 inches.
Fishing here is more adventure than formula: casting large dry flies upstream to rising trout in clear, intimate water. Some days call for a bit of prospecting, but more often than not you'll spot a big brown and get a shot at him. Anglers also work mouse patterns and large attractor flies, carefully covering the stream's structure. Easy access from the lodge means anglers can be on the water in just five minutes, making it ideal for both full-day outings and shorter evening sessions.
Many returning guests become true Quemquemtreu enthusiasts, spending nearly their entire week fishing this remarkable little stream. That's how addictive it can be.
