Where Every Fly-Fishing Technique Has Its Place.

From intimate side channels ideal for wade fishing to classic float sections with the current, structure and pace for full-day drifts and overnight camping trips, the Collon Cura is one of Northern Patagonia's most versatile rivers.

The river's finest fishing is found along its lower 27 miles, where Collon Cura Lodge and Estancia Quemquemtreu provide access to extensive stretches of private water. Compared with the public reaches upstream, this section generally sees lighter fishing pressure and offers productive side channels and some of Patagonia's finest day floats.

Thanks to its consistency and diversity, the Collon Cura delivers excellent fishing under a wide range of conditions. It is not unusual for our guests to spend three to five nights at these lodges and fish the river on several consecutive days, exploring different water and finding new opportunities each time.

Strong hatches, terrestrials, dry-dropper rigs, nymphs and streamers all have their place, along with delicate presentations using small dry flies. Few Patagonian rivers allow anglers to enjoy such a broad range of fly-fishing techniques in a single destination.

Whether you are casting a fly for the first time or have years of experience, the Collon Cura offers varied water, dependable fishing and countless ways to enjoy the river.
