A Wild, Remote River Best Reached by Camping.
The Alumine runs from North to South for about 100 miles before it changes its name to the Collon Cura. Beginning at Alumine Lake, it collects the waters of every river flowing down from the Andes along the way, until it meets the Chimehuin and changes its name.
The best sections to fish it lie well away from the regular roads, so we normally offer 2 night camping trips to reach them. It's a very interesting river, with good action on big dries, droppers and streamers alike. We pay special attention to it between late December and January, when the green inch-worm hatch comes off.
